The Two Best Windows to Visit China
If you've researched the best time to visit China, you'll have seen the same answer everywhere: spring (April-May) and fall (September-October). Both are excellent. But they're not identical, and the differences matter depending on what you want from your trip.

Spring (April-May): Temperatures are mild across most of China — typically 60-77°F in Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi'an. Rain is occasional but not heavy. Northern China is dry and pleasant. Southern China can be more humid.
Fall (September-October): Similar temperatures but drier and clearer air, especially in northern China. Beijing in October often has brilliant blue skies. Late October can get cool in northern regions.
